In 1985 Union Group of Companies was established by H. H. Shaikh. Tariq Al Qassimi, which rapidly grew into a large conglomerate. In 1995, the process of restructuring and consolidation saw the creation of the present Union Group of Companies (UGC), and innovative investment house and incubator for new business.
